Who thinks of the world of Thuringian specialities as consisting of home-made fried sausages and real Thuringian dumplings will be proven true and surprised at the same time at the Wartburg. For it is the aim of our Chef to present at the same time the true character of these classic dishes and the virtuosity of the Thuringian cuisine. At the Landgrafenstube fresh brook trout and succulent boar roast harmonize perfectly with the richly flavoured castle cuisine made of regional products and inspired by old recipes found at castles and manor houses of the wine-growing districts. At the castle’s tavern “Gadem“ in the second courtyard of the Wartburg the publican and his maidservants await you for a proper feast.

This moment of calm, repose and relaxation is yours alone. The wellness and vitality area is equipped with a Finnish sauna, a quiet area and a spacious southern terrace that offers a spectacular view of the Thuringian forest. At our fitness area you will find a treadmill, cross trainers and a life-cycle ergometer. A fresh water fountain offers refreshing spring water from our own well.
