Alter Meierhof Vitality Hotel is a privately run hotel, which opened in 1999 and has been classified as a „5 star superior“ establishment since 2006. When owners Gerlinde and Gerd Theilen decided to open a hotel on Flensburg Fjord, they wanted to create a feeling of warmth for guests to experience right away. The aim was to make guests feel like they were „coming home“, while offering the very highest standard of quality. Based on this philosophy, the owners set about designing the hotel and selecting staff to welcome guests with remarkably authentic friendliness. In 2004, the wellness area has been extended and in 2006 the hotel welcomed top chef Dirk Luther as head chef for the „Alter Meierhof“. The hotel has since then offered the very finest in dining and was awarded two stars in the Michelin Guide in 2008.

The hotel features 54 rooms, of which 18 are south-facing double rooms. Twelve offer a view of „Solitude“ Bay, and eleven other rooms and two suites provide a view of Flensburg Fjord. The atmosphere in the rooms is created by the finest quality materials in warm shades, as well as selected antiques.
